3rd Update Post

Tyler got Baptized last Saturday. It was a very special day for all of us. It was great how much family support he received. I was grateful Cam was able to preform the baptism and the confirmation. We had lunch together at the church afterwords (it was raining outside so we did not use the pavilion). There were a lot of boy cousins there and only three girl cousins. I took a picture of the girls, but the picture did not turn out.






Adele had her Birthday the first of June. We did the same thing with the presents we did on Tyler's Birthday. (We hid the presents and marked the spot with the GPS. The the kids took turns using the GPS to find each hidden present) It had been rain that day on and off, but it worked out good because when Cam got home from work in was sunny. The kids found the present, unwrapped them, played, had cake and ice cream, and cleaned up before the rain started again. Adele had her friend Emily and her cousin Grey over for most of the day.

2nd of the updates

We trailed the cows to the range the end of May. I rode the first part until Carol had to go to work. Then I drove the pickup with the trailer (I needed a break by then anyway).
Adele rode the new kid horse "Sarley" she did pretty good. She had a hard time getting him to do what she wanted.
We have to cross the highway and the railroad tracks. The sheriff was there at the highway to stop traffic and there was long line of trucks waiting this year. Tate and Cam got one of them to blow is horn for them.

After sitting in the front and back of the pickup all day Tyler decided to get out and walk behind the cows. Cam convinced him to wiggle quite a few calves tails (just for fun). I started to ride another girls horse while she drove the pickup. When we were almost to the carrel. I looked back and saw Tyler riding Sorely with his second cousin behind him (they had meet that morning for the first time). I could not believe it Cam had been asking him all day if he wanted to ride and he would wrinkled his nose and say "no, I wish I could bring my four wheeler". He rode the rest of the time. The next morning at 4A.M. he was all ready to ride again. Cam said he was very talkative and excited. Adele, Tate and I went up later that morning. They were almost to the range when we got there, but Tate rode with Cam and Adele rode with Tyler.

It was our dog "Bud's" first time trailing the cows. I think he did a good job. Cam through him in the canal to get two calves out. It worked pretty well and Bud got cooled off.

"Ketchup" time

In April, May and June we had a lot going on.
That is not my excuse for not blogging it was starting to feel like a chore,
and something else I needed to do.
So here is a fast forward of the last month and a half.



Tyler and Cam share a Birthday. We hid Tyler's presents around the farm and had the kids(cousins) find the presents withe the G.P.S. It was pretty fun. We had to put the present out after the rain had stopped. It was pretty late when Cam came in from pipe and fixing a fence some bulls had torn down, but he did not miss the cake, and Tate had not opened Dad's present yet. Tate was pretty excited about the hammer!


For Christmas Cam wanted two Honda Trail 90s for $50. He got the one running at mutual one night with the priest and brought it home. He gave Tate a ride and Adele then the tire lost all of its air! Tyler had been waiting to go on four wheeling and motorcycle ride to the dry farm with Cam. He was pretty disappointed. Cam got the tire fixed and him an Tyler were going to go for another ride, but the Honda trail would not start. It has been fun when it has worked. I have not yet gotten my chance to drive it.


Adele and I made some hair bows, This was also in April!


Ok this was April. Adele had her dance performance. They did a ballet, a cheer, and jazz(?). She had a great time going to "dance class", and liked her dance costumes.



Adele learned to ride her friends bike when it was left here overnight, but since then she just wants to ride her training wheel bike! I have not yet figured out why.

Baptism

Tyler is turning eight on the 23rd of this month and is going to be baptized on the 6th of June! I'm really having a hard time thinking I'm old enough to have and eight year old!
(This invitation is intended for family unless you are a close friend who would like to come.) His baptism will be at 10:00 A.M. we will have lunch after. We would love to have you there. I hope it it good weather(cross your fingers, today is pretty rainy and cold).

Egg dying

The kids on Easter morning.


I tried dying the Easter eggs this year with food coloring. I used the instructions on the back and it said 1 teas. vinegar 1/2 cup boiling water and half the bottle of food coloring. I did what is said and those eggs were instantly dyed! If we left them in inter for a little while they were so dark!

The River

All of these picture are taken on part of the land that we bought (paying for) a few months ago. I love goning ther in in the spring!!!









After the Egg Hunt we went stopped at the river to show Dad and Grandpa what the kids had gotten. They were putting up a new fence. The kids had a great time climbing rock, throwing things in the river (not garbage) and watching for the kayak. The power company will let water out of the dam up to 18 weekends for kayaking (to keep the people happy, will not say my opinion.) anyway it raised to water level in the bear river to cover all of the rocks and makes nice rapped in the Black Canyon. Hence the kayakers. Once they started passing us Tyler warned them of the wire fence under the bridge. Tate had a great time waving at them as they passed. In each great there was one or two who would talk to the kids. Adele was crying because she cut her hand climbing over a panel with barbed wire on it. She wanted to go back home, but I had a hard time getting Tate out of the snow patches.

Easter Weekend

At 10:00 we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at the Fair Grounds in Grace. The hunt is divided into age group in different places at the same time. All three kids were in different age groups, so I let Tyler run over to his age group and brought Adele to hers. Luckily I could a neighbor who was there with her grandchild who watched out for her (good thing she had help because someone stepped on the back of her shoe and she lost it. I'm sure she would have just sat down and cried if she was alone.)
I could not find Tyler after it was over, and I was getting worried when I thought he might go to the van. I was grateful to see his head moving around in the van when I got close!!!



The kids filled and hide Easter eggs in the house for each other. They liked hiding them just as much as finding them.

Leprechaun trap

We saw some leprechaun traps in the Family Fun magazine
and the kids wanted to try, so they can hopefully catch a leprechaun.
Tyler is looking forward to his"Three Wishes"!

• The yellow pom-poms are is the trail for gold to lure the leprechaun to the trap.

• The sign "Do not disturb", is because

"Leprechauns love to break rules.
Warning signs are sure to lure them in."

• The "Pot of Gold" is there lure the leprechaun up the latter, and on to the top of the hat that will give way and trap the leprechaun inside.

I just over heard the kids playing with the trap in the other room
and they are saying things like:

"That's not Gold!", and" get back in
the Time Out Jar because you put fake money in the pot!" "Can I get
out know?" "Money I can smell Money". "Help, Help, Help" "I have
something to tell you." "let me have the Little Guy". "I have some
Gold!" "Goldy, Goldy, Goldy", "Get the Ladder, quick!"

Over the weekend we went on a snow machine trip, and stayed
over night at the Caribou Ranger Cabin (?). It was pretty close to
Gray's Lake. We pulled two big sleds behind our snow machines full of
our supplies! Just after we got there it started to snow so any riding we
did it was really hard to see. I went looking for the kids (Cam was pulling them
in the sled behind the snow machine) and I could not tell if I was going forward
or back! That night it was a little interesting! There was plenty of beds for the nine
of us, but with five of the nine being kids, and being seven and under. It look some time for
everyone to fall asleep. Thanks to Mike and mentioning the wolves howling I was not
about to venture to the outhouse that night! The next day was beautiful blue skies and
we went on a ride to Caribou City ("it is a old gold town in the mountains that once had
10,000 Chinese living up there", so Mike said).
Tyler drove his own snow machine the whole time!
The kids had a great time sliding down hill and playing on the bunk beds! I thought
it was great to get away on a mini vacation close to home.
