perspective

A few weeks ago Cam was working on his snowmachine up at the at the Quonset (shop) by the river.  So the kids and I went along.    Tyler drove my snowmachine and pulled Tate and Adele in the  "calf sled".    Then Colton and I ended up walking to the river, he fell asleep and then I saw about ten swans fly up and away.  I was only able to get a picture of two of them as they flew away.  Cam informed me they live there.  If I got out there more  I could see them.  (the next week Tyler and I saw at bald eagle, the swans , duck and of course the "stinky geese").   So my Title Perspective came when a semi drove by on the highway with PERSPECTIVE  written on the side of the trailer.
It has made me stop and think many times this month.
with the many good and bad things that has happened this month.
It is all in our PERSPECTIVE we make life what it is by our attitude.

"LOVE" Blocks

I made these yesterday with a crafty friend.  She cut the blocks out for me and had the ModPosh (?) and Cricket ready.  I got the paper from Honks four for a dollar!!!  I just had to share this cute easy project. After I took the pictures I tide a ribbon around the three middle blocks with a small bow on top.  So many options with these little cutie.
Now to tackle the kids Valentines.

Valentines card

I got the idea for this card from January Scrapbook Trends Magazine.  The directions for the magazine confused me, so mine ended up looking different.  I will give you there directions if you would like to try.

Directions: "For this flower use two sided paper.  Punch (i cut) out eight small circles  and one large (i did not do this circle) .  Fold each of the small circles in half two times, then unfold them.  Bend back two of the edges of the circles so that they form a point.  Turn the circle over and fold the edges back so they meet in the middle. Adhere all eight small circles to the large circle and secure with a brad (I just glued it down). I used a glue dot for the button.

More Valintines Crafting

I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe (thanks Kristin).  Cut our shapes you want and lay them in the pan on top of the stick.  I used skewer stick because that is what I had.  I cut some of them off to make shorter stick.
I used a glaze frosting I got form Our Best Bites.  I had not used the glaze icing before.  It was fun to swirl around the white is one of the colors with a toothpick.  I had to use royal icing to put some of the stick back on the cookies.  If you want an indepth tutorial go Here

Valentine Garland

I was looking at blogs this morning and found this tutorial.  I had to try it especially since I had every thing I needed on hand.  This it the link for the step by step tutorial Valentine-heart-ribbon.  I did a few things differently. For one I hot glued the buttons rather then sewing them (just call me lazy or practical).  I sewed over the ribbon like she suggested and it was pretty thick, but it still sewed OK.
