Another not so ordinary day

Last Monday Tyler went with Cam and his Grandpa to the Range Tour  were Governor Butch Otter was invited to tour the range and see how important the grazing land is to family's.  Tyler was not to excited to see the range, but he was very excited about meeting the Governor.  (but he would like to add he did see some land he has never seen before!)  Tyler asked if he could get a picture with him.   Tyler's grandpa said he was the 6th generation in the cowboy business.  Cam wanted Tyler to ask Governor Otter if he would protect state land, so he could take his cows there when he was an old Grandpa.  All in all a good experience for the "Little Lad".

Not every day

On Sunday Cam asked  if I wanted to go move his wheel line with him.  He said "it will be hot and boring".   It ended up being far from boring.  When he got to the field a glider plane was laying close to his wheel line.  The pilot said he lost the air current, and went down.  His friend crashed a mile down the road in a grain field..

Memorial Weekend

Last Friday Cam needed me to do an errand for him where my parents live so I went and stayed with my parents.  We meet my Mom at the Park for a picnic and kids played only a few minutes before the rain started so we ran to a shelter with the food.  Some of the kids went to the skate park and ran around in the rain.  They ended up dripping wet.

We went to my parents and the kids were very excited for the new "toy".

We decided to make a stream-waterfall-pond to the side of my parents house.  the kids helped haul some rocks from the pasture to use for the project.  Mostly they had a good time playing with cousins.

The next day my Dad did some work on it while I worked on two sewing projects (a high chair cover and a skirt for Adele's Birthday)
Later that evening we stopped at the cemetery were my grandparents, great grandparents, and my great great grandparents are buried.  Also Colton's and my Dad's name sake is buried there.

We had a great time for a last minute trip!  Thanks Mom and Dad!

This Kid

I was playing with Picasa 3 again, and had to share this picture! When we moved the Cows last week Tyler and Adele did not want to come with us to move the cows so it was just Tate and Colton who came. Tyler and Adele had read-a-thon, field trip,s Field-day and other end of the school fun things going on. That had great time playing with the Smith grand kids that came along. He can be so sweet, and a trouble maker all at the same time and make me laugh and cry. I have more pictures I want to share with the cows, birthdays, and other fun things. Hopefully I can do that after I have some lunch. The kids are over at there cousins house right know (except Colton).

Not to late for a Easter Basket?

Adele, Tyler and I made these baskets/bags yesterday.  We got the idea out of "Parents" magazine (parents.com).

We used decrative sissors to cut the bag shorter and cut off the handles.  Your can have the bag flat and cut straight across.  Punch a hole for the ribbon on each side and pull it through and make a knot.  I used glue dots to keep the ribbon in place around the bag.

( The flower directions were more complicated so I will put the magazines directions on.  Don't be intimited the flowers are a great thing to know how to do.  The posibilities with them are endless!)

What you'll need  Various colors of tissue paper, scissors (regular or decorative-edged).  floral wire, hot-glue gun.
Make it Cut tissue paper into 5-7 inch rectangles.  Stack 3 to 6 pieces, alternating colors.  Accordion-fold the tissue paper lengthwise and wrap wire around the middle (before I separated the tissue paper I cut each end at an angle.  It made them look like petals) .  Gently separate each layer, pulling upward toward the middle of the flower.  Attach finished flowers to the bag with hot-glue gun.

Remodel

Last Thursday I went out and bought myself a new sewing machine (every time I tried to say sewing machine "snow machine" came out instead,  I will let you speculate on that one.)! It is a Brother 40 Project Runway. It has a lot of user friendly features.
So fare I'm perfectly satisfied.
It sewed Tyler's new scout badges with no problem.
Adele and Emily (her friend) think it is very "cute".
I'm just glad for a machine that does not make me want to pull my hair out whenever I sit down to use it.

Soooooooooo. I needed a project to try out the new sewing machine.

And the old Barbie house of my sisters and mine needed  a update for its early 80's carpet and wall paper.
I haven't done anything with the furniture and may not do anything.
The blue wall may get some little red poca dots. Will see.

My Mom made the curtains in the living room, and decorated the chairs I decided to leave them alone. I  painted and use a foam stamp and antiquing gel on the walls.

I sitll  need to put something on the wall.  Any ideas?

Don't you love the  curtain?. I makes me want to get Barbie in there cooking!

Big Blue Eyes

My sister In-Law Mandy came this past weekend and she took some pictures of Colton. He was so happy, so Mandy got her camera out. She always has it handy. My sister Michelle made this hat for a Christmas present.

Re charged

(this is a comment I put on my friends blog and decided to share it with the rest of you.)
Thursday after cleaning poo of the carpet for the second day in a row several loads of  peed on laundry, and huge mess in every room for the Little Man Tate. I had a melt down. I left Colton sleeping and Tate playing and went for a walk to the "apple tree". When I came back in Tate said "Dad?" he didn't even know I had left. I told him to get his snow clothes on we were going outside to play. It did wonders for my moral. I decided when Tyler got home from school we were going to go to my parents house to get away. It was great visiting with my family, and the kid got to play with there cousins.  I even got to do a sewing project with cute fabric. When I came home cam had been on two snow machining trips. I fill like I can handle life better after having a recharge.
